About J. Robert Matthewson

Squirrel Typing on a Keyboard

J. Robert Matthewson is a pseudonym used by a 100% real human writer (and not, as rumored, a potentially infinite number of literate squirrels inside human-shaped suit.)  He is married to a human spouse, who is also a writer, and the pair share their home in Western Pennsylvania with two adorable but also demanding felines.  When not writing, he enjoys hockey, gaming of both the tabletop and video varieties, animation of all sorts, and outdoor activities with the before-mentioned human spouse.

The website’s name is a riff on the old theory that if you had an infinite number of monkeys in a room with infinite typewriters, eventually they would, through sheer random luck, produce copies of all the greatest works of literature. Now, if you instead had infinite squirrels scampering across infinite keyboards, then they would likely create… well, probably something akin to what you’ll find here. Still, I hope you find it to be an enjoyable experience.

Official Statement on GenA.I.

Let it be said for the record, that everything on this page and regarding the books featured here are 100% human-created, and in no way used or involved Generative Artificial Intellegence (GenA.I.) That includes all content on this website, and the books this website promotes, from the covers to the stories themselves.

For the sake of full disclosure, some Assistive A.I. was used during the editing process of Tales of the Stranger Sister in the form of the software ProWritingAid. This was only used for specific tools in the form of grammar check, spell check, overused words, and repeated phrases. Each item found by the software was deliberated over by human eyes and any changes made were purposefully made by humans. Under no circumstances was the software allowed to outright rewrite any passages of my novel.

Likewise, the cover was 100% created and drawn by a human artist without the use of any GenA.I. tools. Anyone “creating” Ghibli-style art using GenA.I has missed the point of their work so badly, it’s utterly stupefying.

Thank you.
